Joan Collins as The Siren

The mega-campy Batman TV series from the 60's had some of the best villainesses of all times.

My favorite, by far, was the Siren, played by the then extraordinarily gorgeous Joan Collins, an actress that has always seemed to be born to play evil women.

For starters, the Siren wore sexy sandals, making her the only Batman villainess whose feet were visible.

Also, she did something I love in evil gals: she went on and on about her evilness. First, she says that evil makes the world go round and that she wanted to be evil, and the word just lingers in her tongue: evilll. (All the time I wanted to reassure her: you are, you are!) Then, she says she wants to become the wickedest woman in Gotham City and thus in the world.




Most importantly, the Siren didn't just say she was evil - she was really the cruellest of all Batman villainesses. She used her sexy voice to control men's will and then she just disposed of them. She makes Commissioner Gordon spy on Batman, she tells Chief O'Hara to walk into a lake and drown and, after making Bruce Wayne hand over his fortune to her, she orders him to jump from the roof.

(Unfortunately, Robin and Batgirl arrived just in time to stop her evil plans!)
